Congratulations Speedy Sailfish

Congratulations to these speedy Sailfish!!” Photo: Emma Hall, Sarah Guerrette, Cailey Stockwell.and Rayya Burns.

Congratulations are also in order for our 13-14 girls relay teams. Swimming at the Regionals meet at UVAC in February, both the 200 medley and 200 free relays broke 30+ year old team records! The medley relay team of Rayya Burns, Emma Hall, Sarah Guerrette and Cailey Stockwell swam a 1:56.88, taking down the 32 year old record by almost 4 seconds. Not only that, they also beat the 15-18 time as well which has been up 2 years longer! Later in the season, at the NHSA league championship meet in March, these relay records were broken again; the medley record by the same relay team of Rayya Burns, Emma Hall, Sarah Guerrette and Cailey Stockwell while the new 200 free relay record was set by the same 4 girls with Emma leading off followed by Rayya, Cailey and Sarah.

Cailey Stockwell started off the assault on the 13-14 record board with her first swim at the November classic meet at UVAC where she broke the girl’s 200 breaststroke record by 10 seconds.

Emma Hall shook off a rough start to the season where she couldn’t escape the cold/flu bugs. But when she finally got healthy, she toppled both the 13-14 girls 100 & 200 breaststroke records with times of 1:06.60 and 2:26.01 respectively.

Sarah Guerrette broke Cailey’s Stockwell’s newly established record in the 400 IM with a 5:01.91 swim, setting the current record for that event. Sarah also grabbed the 13-14 girls 100 fly record, which had stood for 30 years, with a great swim of 1:01.21.

Top 10 Again!
Congratulations are in order to Emma Hall for being recognized one of the top 10 fastest 13-14 year old breaststroke swimmers in New England. This is Emma’s 2nd year achieving such distinction, she was also top 10 last year as a 12 year old. This year, swimming as a 13 year old, she is once again in that accomplished top 10 group, despite being in the lower “1/2” of her age group. She placed 7th overall in the 200 breaststroke and 9th overall in the 100 breaststroke. Congratulations Emma!”
