Our Personal Trainers and Group Exercise Instructors can assist you in reaching your health and well-being goals. We strongly suggest you take advantage of one of our free new member orientation sessions. Our Personal Trainers and Group Exercise Instructors are professionally trained and certified. They seek to provide answers to your fitness questions while providing information and guidance for you to feel comfortable using the Wellness Center. In order to effectively serve your needs, we offer orientations free of charge.

The Y is much more than a wellness facility. We schedule our Personal Trainers to be available in the Wellness Center to answer any questions you may have. Unlike many other fitness facilities, the Y’s Personal Trainers are not paid on commission. The Y offers additional personal training and small group options for a fee if you would like additional motivation and support to reach your goals. We also provide a wide range of small and large free group exercise classes. See the Welcome Center for more details.
All members are asked to participate in an orientation to our Matrix & Cardiovascular Equipment from one of our trained staff. They will explain policies, equipment and provide a program for you. Please allow 1 hour for an orientation, and be prepared to work out. Contact the Welcome Center to schedule an appointment, 228-9622. (FREE – for ages 14 and up!)
The YMCA’s method of estimating lean muscle mass involves the measurement of skinfolds in various body locations. In 3 or 4 pinches you will know approximately how much of your body is muscle and how much is fat. By Appointment Only. Call 228-9622 ext. 121 to sign up for this service.

The Y’s Way to Physical Fitness Test is an excellent means of evaluating your present fitness level. The test is highly recommended for all members to determine progress toward personal goals. The complete battery of tests will include measurements of body composition, blood pressure, resting heart rate, strength, flexibility and muscular endurance, as well as cardiorespiratory efficiency. Welcome to the Y!
This introductory program consists of 2 one-hour and 2 half-hour sessions with a personal trainer, designed to set you on your way to a lifetime of physical fitness and well-being. Your first meeting is your Initial Fitness Consultation and Fitness Assessment, to determine where you are and goals to get you where you’d like to be. Your second session will review the machines and begin a tracking card. After that, you meet with a trainer to help you stick to your goals and see how to best utilize what the Y has to offer!

Get fit together! Experience the incredible energy that only group classes can give you. Instructors lead you through the workouts providing you effective, fun and easy-to-follow steps. We offer a wide array of classes at our Y including boot camp, cycling, yoga, pilates, water aerobics, ZUMBA® and more!
Classes are available for all fitness levels and most classes are available free.
Our Y offers a wide variety of equipment for our members to enjoy on the 2nd floor. Our trained Fitness Center Staff will take you on a guided tour of the cardio and weight rooms and help you feel comfortable on any and all of our equipment. Your instructor will also explain the weight room layout, which includes the Matrix strength training circuit, free weights and more. Sign up for this free orientation with the wellness staff located on the 2nd floor in the lobby outside of the locker rooms.
